Program details

Hong Kong's Capital Investment Entrant Scheme (CIES), relaunched in 2024, requires HKD 30.0M in total investments. This comprises HKD 3.0M in a mandatory HKIC (Hong Kong Investment Corporation) fund plus HKD 27.0M in permissible assets including stocks, bonds, and funds.

Residential real estate investments are capped at HKD 10.0M within a HKD 15.0M total real estate limit. March 2025 enhancements reduced the asset ownership period from 2 years to 6 months before application.

The program leads to permanent residency after 7 years of ordinary residence, with a requirement of 183 days physical presence per year. Hong Kong offers low taxation with a maximum salary tax of 17%.

Note: Hong Kong residency does not provide a pathway to Chinese citizenship. The HKSAR passport grants visa-free access to Schengen countries under the 90/180 day rule.
