Program details

Vietnam issues investor visas under the DT categories, split into DT1 through DT4 based on total investment capital and, in some cases, whether the investment is in government-prioritized sectors or areas. DT1 generally applies above VND 100 billion, DT2 applies from VND 50 billion to VND 100 billion, DT3 applies from VND 3 billion to VND 50 billion, and DT4 applies below VND 3 billion.

Visa validity is typically up to 5 years for DT1 and DT2, up to 3 years for DT3, and 1 year for DT4. For longer-term residence, Vietnam can issue a Temporary Residence Card (TRC) to eligible visa holders; for investors this typically applies to DT1 through DT3, with TRC validity up to 10 years for DT1, up to 5 years for DT2, and up to 3 years for DT3. DT4 investors are generally not eligible for a TRC.

A TRC allows multiple entries and exits without needing a visa during the card's validity. Vietnam Briefing notes typical TRC processing time of about five working days once a complete application is submitted; the processing time fields above are rounded to months to match the schema.

Dependents can be included: the TT visa category covers dependents of certain visa holders, including dependents of DT1 through DT3 investors. Applicants should expect the immigration outcome to depend on maintaining the underlying investment and the sponsoring entity's compliance.
