Oman's long-term Investor Residency framework, often marketed as a Golden Visa, was relaunched and expanded in late 2025 to attract foreign investors and support longer-term settlement.

Official investment portals describe a tiered structure: Tier Two is positioned as the lower entry point (commonly OMR 250000), while Tier One is positioned as the higher threshold (commonly OMR 500000) and typically aligns to longer validity. Depending on the route, qualifying investments can include real estate and business or company investments; real estate eligibility may depend on designated zones and foreign ownership rules.

Residency benefits are primarily domestic: multi-year residency, the ability to sponsor qualifying family members, and access to local services. Oman is not in Schengen, so there is no Schengen travel right attached to the residence permit. Some sources cite minimal physical presence expectations, but applicants should confirm the current rule set for their specific route and renewal cycle.

There is no standard citizenship pathway tied to the program. Naturalization in Oman is highly discretionary and is not marketed as an outcome of investor residency.
