Program details

New Zealand's Active Investor Plus Visa offers two investment categories:

Growth category: NZD 5M investment, 36-month holding period, 21 days annual presence
Balanced category: NZD 10M investment, 60-month holding period, 105 days annual presence

April 2025 revisions significantly lowered thresholds from the previous NZD 15M requirement, and removed the English language requirement. Property purchase rights for investors are expected to be introduced in 2026 with a NZD 5M+ threshold.

The program has attracted strong interest, with 491 applications received by December 2025 representing approximately NZD 2.91B in potential investment.

The pathway to citizenship requires 5 years of residence and 1,350 days of physical presence. New Zealand citizenship provides one of the world's strongest passports.
