Program details
Program Closed: Ireland's Immigrant Investor Programme (IIP) was abruptly closed on February 15, 2023 with just one day's notice. The closure cited EU security concerns and audit weaknesses.
During its operation from 2012-2023, the program attracted EUR 1.293 billion in total investment. Options ranged from EUR 400,000 donations to EUR 2,000,000 in enterprise investments.
Approximately 1,500 pending applications are being processed through a seven-tier priority system based on submission date and documentation completeness.
The program offered a pathway to citizenship after 5 years of residency. Note that Ireland is not part of the Schengen Area, so the program did not provide Schengen travel rights.
