Poland offers EU membership, a large domestic market of 38 million, and competitive costs that have made it a major destination for nearshoring and tech operations. Warsaw has emerged as a significant European business hub, attracting skilled workforce and international companies.

Poland has a progressive income tax with rates of 12% (up to PLN 120,000) and 32% (above). A flat 19% tax option is available for self-employed individuals. The innovative IP Box regime offers a 5% rate on qualifying intellectual property income from patents, software copyrights, and registered designs. Corporate tax is 19% (9% for small companies). Capital gains on securities are taxed at 19%. There is no wealth tax. Inheritance tax applies to non-relatives.

Poland does not offer a formal golden visa or citizenship by investment program. Residence permits are available for business owners, employees, students, and family members of Polish residents. Poland participates in the EU Blue Card scheme for highly qualified workers. The startup visa (Poland Business Harbour) targets entrepreneurs from Eastern Partnership countries.

Standard residency requires demonstrating legal purpose of stay, stable income, and health insurance. Polish citizenship generally requires 3-10 years of residence depending on circumstances, with Polish language proficiency required. EU/EEA citizens enjoy freedom of movement.
